« Peste & choléra »: un roman colonial postcolonial?

Abstract

Les classifications génériques des "romans d'aventure sans fiction" de Patrick Devile sont nombreuses mais celle du "roman (post-)colonial n'y apparaît pas. Ces romans se situent pourtant historiquement et géographiquement au coeur même de l'époque et de l'espace colonialistes. En référence à Peste & choléra, je veux montrer que trois "régimes d'historicité" en relation avec le colonialisme structurent ce récit, et grâce à ces "régimes" on peut essayer de répondre à la double question: Peste & choléra est-il un roman colonial en dehrs du colonialisme ou est-ce que c'est um roman postcolonial implicte?

The generic classifications of the « romans d’aventure sans fiction » of Patrick Deville are numerous, but that of « (post)colonial novel » does not appear. These novels however are localized temporarily and geographically in the heart of the epoch and the area of colonialism. On the basis of Peste & choléra, I will try by means of the „regimes of historicity“ (régimes d’historicité) to analyse the functioning of the colonialism in this novel and give an answer to the double question : Is Peste & choléra a colonial novel at the outside of colonialism? Is it an implicit postcolonial novel?
